Now don't get me wrong. My disappointment, I am explaining, was more of a confused moment, rather than despair. Then we put it to work that very night. Wow, I just don't know if I could model without it now. I know I am fairly new to the hobby (two years steady after a 20-year hiatus), but that doesn't deny the fact that for the last two years, the procedure of painting, without damaging the finish, was a task to behold, especially with kids. The paint stand holds the object securely - and being able to let it dry in previously unavailable locations is a plus (again especially with kids). The product is promoted, as a multipurpose painting stand set, with two easy-to-use stands. Both stands can be adjusted and Fixing a model body to the stand from the inside, the body stand is perfect for spray painting rolling stock, as can be seen in the picture to the left. The width of the clips can also be adjusted, to obtain the most stable hold for many objects - including a drying spot for stained kit pieces. The clip stand is great for painting windows and doors still on the sprue. We used this opportunity to paint all sides at once, making for a one-step paint job. Leaving your project to dry right in the same spot, makes for an easy procedure. There isn't much we didn't like about this tool, as we have used it every day since receiving it. So this review might get an update of a mishap of some sort, but I doubt it. The Tamiya paint stand is a great tool for any modeler, including us railroaders. SBG
